Close to Richard Burton's 90th anniversary, today’s upload is a small gallery of images from our vaults taken from Last Days of Dolwyn distributed in 1949 and also known as ‘Women of Dolwyn’, the film that saw the screen debut of the Welsh actor. A tale of contrast between the values of community and heritage and the pressure of the modern vault, it was written and co-directed by Welsh actor and dramatist Emlyn Williams. It featured the first appearance on screen since the silent era of Dame Edith Evans.
